The Italian glass artist Flavio Poli (1900-1984), trained at the Istituto d'Arte di Venezia, was a phenomenon in the world of glass art. Its design capabilities and continuous desire for improvement and application of new techniques have ensured that he is considered one of the greatest of its kind.In 1934 he developed a style that he called immersed, sommerso in Italian. It is a technique that consists of three transparent layers of glass, two of which are colored and one remaining colorless. The sommerso objects became his greatest success and this also applies for Seguso Vetri d'Arte, where he was a partner until 1963.

Design

This vase has the color combination grigio - rosso cinese - giallo. This is a transparent gray covered with transparent bright red captured in transparent yellow. The voluptuous shape, which has a special beauty in terms of proportion alone, is the stage for a spectacle of colors that gives a different flicker with the slightest change in light. Elegantly curved sides stand out sharply from the background and give light and color space to bring the object to life.

Condition

This timeless vase has acquired a few minor superficial imperfections over the years and provides the typical vintage look. There are no further chips to be seen.

"

This bar is amazing. Beautiful and exactly as described. A custom crate (which was a work of art itself) was built in order to ship the piece to the U.S. The bar arrived in perfect condition without a scratch. I will say that take the crate apart was not easy and was a two-person job. But worth it in the end
