Biosca set of 4 chairs in pine and cognac saddle leather.A beautiful set of four chairs manufactured by the rather mysterious Biosca. What we also mentioned in the description of the sideboard is that little is known about this Spanish furniture manufacturer. What we do know with certainty is the very high quality craftsmanship of their furniture and in this case their chairs.

Design

The frame of the chair consists entirely of pine and all wooden parts such as, for example, the legs are the same size except for the two cross beams. Through a sophisticated mortise-and-tenon joint, these parts are connected. Pure craftsmanship. The back legs are slightly curved and the two wooden parts on top are at an angle. This results in a rather good back support. A saddle leather of stunning quality is applied to the seat and backrest by an absolute master. Double stitching has been applied to all somewhat weak spots and we can conclude that after sixty years this only looks better. Not a cleft is there to be seen.

Conditon

In addition, the cognac leather also shows a patina that is truly pleasing to the eye. These chairs have already lived a life and are revelaing this in characteristic ways. Hues, stripes and all sorts of other blemishes culminate in beauty. The leather is fastened to the frame with octagonal copper rivets, also giving the chair that typical feeling of flirting with the Spanish furniture style of the 17th century. In terms of its condition, we can categorize this set as very good. So, as indicated earlier, there is a difference in the patina of the leather. This only adds to the charm in our opinion. Scratches and minor scuffs on the frame are also present but are not distracting.

This bar is amazing. Beautiful and exactly as described. A custom crate (which was a work of art itself) was built in order to ship the piece to the U.S. The bar arrived in perfect condition without a scratch. I will say that take the crate apart was not easy and was a two-person job. But worth it in the end
