The side tables from the Amsterdam School period were often made with great feeling. In addition, the robustness is phenomenal due to the artisanal techniques used at the time.

Design

We also see the above mentioned beautifully depicted in this item. A warm glow that can be seen over the entire object is the patina that has been able to form over an estimated hundred years. Subtle satin gloss is the result of an oak veneer with deep brown hues.

A combination of round shapes and very slightly tapered legs make the whole thing so desirable. The middle part of the legs consists of ebony with raised edges on the outside made of oak. About six inches off the ground is a round platform that falls within the legs. The round top is tightly veneered in a ditto pattern. The pattern is repeated rectangularly with an ebony veneer.

Condition

This side table has been completely restored in our studio while retaining the patina and minor imperfections.
