Stunning set of 5 Danish armchairs, model 53, by Erik Kirkegaard for Høng Stolefabrik from the 1950s. Erik Kirkegaard is well known for creating minimalist chairs. Kirkegaard's designs can be characterized by the common use of an A-frame in teak, armrests designed as carved cow horns and black leather upholstery. The design of these chairs is elegant due to the sculpted armrests, curved backrest, and round tapered legs. These armchairs are made of teak and are newly upholstered with a beautiful beige fabric for the seating area, and a beige/brown striped fabric on the backrest. The chairs are overall in good original condition with only some minimal wear of age and usage.
